AI rarely puts this product on the shortlist — and when it does, it cites a two-year-old Reddit thread or a stale capability claim. Buyers are being routed to G2, the incumbents, and old community threads instead.
Every month, AI verifies more facts about your product — capabilities, pricing model, integrations, certifications, competitive position — and they stay. A competitor starting today is months behind.
A sample of the graph. Scout verifies the facts, Maker publishes the answers, Anchor gets the review sites and analyst coverage right — and it only ever grows. Illustrative figures.

FAQ
The detail, if you want it
When a security buyer asks which MDR provider fits a mid-market budget, or an IT buyer drafts a vendor shortlist inside Copilot, your product often never appears — 35–42% of cybersecurity category queries return no confident vendor citation at all.⁵ Inserviss runs persona and category prompt panels across all five engines, restructures and ungates your comparison and capability content so ChatGPT will cite it, and builds the off-domain layer — G2, Capterra, TrustRadius, analyst relations, real community presence. AI-referred traffic converts at 9x Google organic,² and 89% of a category's citations go to just the top three brands,² so the structural work compounds.
Three ways. The silent category: a buyer asks which provider fits a budget and ChatGPT names no one — 38% of the time, that's simply the answer given. The Reddit referral: Perplexity cites a two-year-old Reddit thread instead of your current documentation. The invisible shortlist: an IT buyer's Copilot shortlist never includes you because your content isn't structured for anything to reference. 51% of buyers now start with AI rather than Google, and 69% switch vendors based on what it says.
This is the counterintuitive part: ChatGPT favours your own product domain for product queries, while Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Copilot pull the large majority of their citations from third-party sources — the opposite pattern, in the same buyer's research session. Core SaaS buying: ChatGPT dominates by volume and favours your pages, Copilot is where the shortlist memo gets drafted, Google AI is the broad research surface. DevOps: Perplexity does deep technical research with heavy Reddit reliance, Claude is fastest-growing among engineering buyers. Cybersecurity: Perplexity for analyst- and community-sourced input, ChatGPT for category-defining queries (MDR, EDR, DLP), Copilot for RFP drafting. A single-engine, single-tactic tool structurally can't cover both halves.
One system, three jobs, roughly 20 / 40 / 40. Scout runs persona and category prompt panels across ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity, including zero-citation opportunity tracking. Maker is the on-domain fix ChatGPT rewards most: schema-complete comparison pages, server-side rendering, and ungated core content. Anchor is off-domain — G2, Capterra and TrustRadius review programs, analyst relations with Gartner and Forrester, Wikidata, and genuine Reddit / GitHub / community presence. Everything is built to the standard your SOC 2 audit already meets, with version-controlled claims: Draft → Review → Publish → Monitor.
On your site, Maker turns gated comparison and capability PDFs into citable pages, moves core content from behind a form to ungated and crawlable, refreshes stale content from >90 days to <30, and adds schema and an llms.txt. Off your site, Anchor takes your G2, Capterra and TrustRadius profiles from thin and outdated to complete and current, builds an active analyst-briefing cadence with Gartner and Forrester where there was none, establishes your Wikidata and Wikipedia presence, and turns Reddit / GitHub absence into genuine participation. Every change is tracked with a before, an after, and the date it moved.
No — it's complementary. Most of the work is structuring and ungating what already exists, and building the review-platform and analyst-relations layer demand-gen teams don't usually own.
Most of those tools optimize one engine with one tactic. ChatGPT and the Perplexity/Gemini/Claude cluster run on opposite citation logic — vendor-domain vs. third-party — so a single-engine, single-tactic tool structurally can't cover both halves of the split.
We can't promise a placement — no one can. What Anchor does is build the sustained analyst-relations cadence and briefing history that Gartner and Forrester coverage actually depends on, and Scout tracks whether that's translating into citations.
That's the highest-leverage case, not a dead end — Scout flags zero-citation categories as open ground, and Maker/Anchor prioritize establishing the first well-structured, well-cited answer before a competitor locks up the category.
