Privacy Policy
Effective date: 22 July 2026 · Last updated: 22 July 2026
This policy explains what information Inserviss Beacon collects when you use it, why, and who processes it. It describes what the product actually does today — not practices we might adopt later. We will update it as the product changes.
Beacon is operated by Inserviss, Inc., a Delaware corporation, with its operator based in Switzerland. Beacon scans how AI assistants (such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini) answer buyer questions in your category, measures whether your business is named, and reports where it is and isn’t cited.
1. What we collect
Business information you submit. To run a scan you give us details about a business: its name, category, city (optional — some businesses operate online with no location), a few “known for” tags, and optionally a website or social-profile link. We also detect the language(s) the business appears to operate in from that information, so the scan uses realistic buyer questions.
Public content we retrieve. If you give us a website or social-profile URL, we fetch that public page to help fill in the business details for you to confirm. We read only what is publicly visible on the page.
Approximate location, not your IP address. To pre-fill the city field, we read the coarse city/country your network’s hosting edge attaches to the request. We use it only to suggest a placeholder and do not store your IP address.
No accounts. Running a free scan requires no sign-up, email address, or password. We do not create a user profile for you.
2. Why we use it
- To generate the buyer questions for your category and run the visibility scan.
- To prevent abuse of the free scan — each business can be free-scanned once per 30 days, and an overall daily limit protects the shared budget.
- To improve the product’s underlying measurement. Scan results accumulate into an internal knowledge graph (which questions AI engines answer, and which sources they cite in a category) that makes future measurement more accurate.
3. The AI providers we send queries to
Beacon works by putting buyer questions to independent AI systems and recording their answers. To do that, it sends the generated questions — and, for extracting business details, submitted page text — to the following providers, each of which processes that data under its own terms and privacy policy:
- Anthropic (Claude) — generates the buyer questions, detects language, sizes category demand, and extracts business details from submitted pages.
- Perplexity — the primary AI engine we sample to measure citations.
- OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Google (Gemini) — additional engines sampled when a business is scanned with extended search.
These are independent AI providers, not marketing or advertising partners. We do not sell your information or share it for advertising. Where a business submits its own Instagram profile that is connected to our account, we may read that account’s public profile through Meta’s Graph API to fill in details; we do not use it to look up other businesses.
4. What we store, and for how long
We store the business information you submit and the measurements a scan produces — the questions asked, whether your business was named, the positions, and the source domains and links the engines cited — in our database. This lets us show your report and lets the knowledge graph accumulate over time.
We do not store the full text of the AI engines’ answers; we keep only a one-way fingerprint (a hash) of each response for audit and de-duplication.
Retention and deletion. Today, scanned data persists — there is no automatic deletion, and no self-service delete button yet. You can ask us to delete a business’s scanned data by emailing igor@inserviss.app. We currently handle these requests manually and will build self-service controls as the product matures.
5. International data transfers
The AI providers above are based in the United States and process the queries we send them there and in other locations they operate. Our operator is based in Switzerland. By using Beacon you understand that the information involved in a scan may be processed in the United States and elsewhere. If you are in a region with data-transfer rules (such as the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland), contact us at igor@inserviss.app with any questions.
7. Children
Beacon is a business-to-business tool intended for business owners and operators. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product changes — for example, when accounts, billing, or self-service data controls are added. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
9. Contact
For any privacy question or to request deletion of scanned data, contact Inserviss, Inc. at igor@inserviss.app.
